Norman Land

The interviewee remembers the thrill of getting a television for the first time, news has made the greatest impression over the years. Thinks that television is an important resource in the education world and that excellent nature programmes have been broadcast over the years.Remembers the emotion mostly concerning the drowning of Cwm Tryweryn, did not see much broadcasting. Aberfan had a great impact as he lives in a coal mining area himself, he speaks about disasters in the Wrexham area. Remembers seeing people on television going to Aberfan to help and feeling that people needed to know what had happened. He felt that the labour unions had been over-criticised during the Miners' Strike, but thinks that families suffer most during a strike.
