Edith Davies

The interviewee remembers being annoyed that the radio had to go off at 7pm in her house when the television started. She remembers the pattern of arriving home and her family going into one room to watch television and she'd go into the kitchen to cook supper. She knew people who were killed in the Aberfan disaster and felt the coverage really conveyed the feeling and took it to the world. Whilst discussing the Miners' Strike she says that television can give an unbalanced view and although she doesn't like strikes generally she sympathised with the miners. Her mother was worried about losing Channel 4 when S4C was launched but her household enjoyed having it, although there were difficulties receiving it in Wrexham.
