P & A Campbell's paddle steamer 'Westward Ho' leaving Cardiff Pierhead. The Bute Dock Offices are in the background. The steamer has left the pier stern first and has completed its turn seawards, the rope used to assist the turn in the restricted space can be seen being hauled aboard the stern of the vessel.
