The lady in the doorway is my grandmother, Beta Jones, whose mother started the business and ran the Post Office. We have the original glass plate of this postcard. When I was little I used to sit in the bay window watching the world go by. The window had to be removed after it was hit a couple of times by buses going through the village.
Lovely to have the information about your grandmother and your memories of the shop - how interesting that the shop was started by a woman and in that day and age! Do you have any other photos you could upload to the site?
