The construction of the Millennium Stadium for the Rugby World Cup in 1999 represented an opportunity to observe the demolition of an icon of Welsh heritage and the genesis of a new one. The Royal Commission’s expertise in architectural photography and aerial archaeology provided unique perspectives of the old stadium and the development of its replacement.
