Description

The house, located to provide an impressive view of the Brecon Beacons, was built in 1846-8 for Col. Lloyd Vaughan Watkins. A large entrance tower in the then fashionable Italian Renaissance style is concealed by the trees on the right in this view. The impressive glass dome was demolished in 1899.
