Yellow Brain by Alison Howells
Description
Scientific Name:Tremella mesenterica
Fungi facts:Commonly known as the “Yellow brain fungus” it is more often found on Gorse. Interestingly, this fungus is not attacking the Gorse but a fungus which itself is parasitising the host. In dry weather the yellow brain shrivels up to a thin film but within a few days after rain it swells up again to form a jelly-like mass again.
Technique:An assemblage of fabric with hand embroidery and free machine lace
