Fungi facts:The Amethyst Deceiver is a small brightly coloured mushroom that grows in deciduous and coniferous forests. It is most prevalent in Beech woods and forms a mycorrhizal association with this host. This involves the fungus forming an intimate relationship with the roots of the tree whereby both species exchange food products essential for their survival.
