Scientific Name: Marasmius oreades
Fungi facts: This is the species that many people associate with ‘fairy-rings’. The rings are formed by the underground fungus growing in an arc or a ring in the grassland. These rings are very evident when one sees television pictures of the outfield in cricket grounds. The Fairy Ring Champignon is highly regarded as a good edible mushroom incorporated into stews and soups.
Technique: Appliqué with hand embroidery.
