Scientific Name:Clavaria zollingeri
Fungi facts:The Violet Coral is an extremely beautiful but rare fungus associated with our 'waxcap grassland' fungi. It is one of the 'Club and Coral' fungi and produces these tubular fruit bodies up to 10cm. in length. The spores are produced on the surface of these branches. It derives its nutrients from the breakdown of organic material in the soil.
