Fungi facts:These narrow sack like structures are called 'asci' and contain 'ascospores. They are the reproductive bodies characteristic of a large number of fungi which are grouped into the 'Ascomycetes'. - taxonomic group of fungi which contains over 60,000 species. They range in size from single celled organisms and include our cup fungi, ergots, truffles and lichen fungi.
