Scientific Name:Cantharellus cibarius
Fungi facts:The Chanterelle (also known as Girole in France) is one of our highly prized culinary mushrooms. It is found in both deciduous and conifer woodland but notably under birch. So highly prized are they that people keep their locations a closely guarded secret. The mushroom is very characteristic with a funnel shaped cap with 'wrinkled veins' on the underside.
