Turkeytail by Pat James

Description

Scientific Name:Trametes versicolor
Fungi facts:This species is found on dead fallen hardwood trunks and logs most of the year. The mushroom ramifies through the wood and produces semi-circular tiered brackets which are zoned into many different colours. It is also known as the Many-zoned polypore and as the common name suggests spores are released from underneath the bracket from pores not gills as in other mushrooms.
Technique:Appliqué with machine stitching
