Scientific Name:Hygrocybe pretensis
Fungi facts:The Meadow waxcap is one of the larger waxcap species found on short turf grassland. It is edible and highly prized in some European countries. It is found in agriculturally unimproved grassland but is partially tolerant of some inorganic fertiliser. It is a declining species because of the loss of habitat due to agricultural improvement.
