Description
Kevin Hawke is a keen diver and Living Seas Wales volunteer. This image is taken from his dive log and records his first ever dive which took place in St Brides Bay on the 6th May 1996. During the dive he observed a variety of marine wildlife which he describes in the "Dive Details" section of the log book (transcribed below).
Dive Details: Kitted up in the car park, carried out buoyancy check in shallow water - 28lbs on weight belt. Planned to go in as a four some but Barry had buoyancy problems. So Phill and I carried out the dive as a pair. Had some difficulty getting under the water - had to swim under. Relaxed + confident and also excited. Saw a large red fish almost immediately which Phill said was a wrasse. Lots of different kinds of crabs which in keeping their distance from us fanned out in a semi-circle in front of us. Brilliant.
