Description

Carding is a traditional method of preparing fleece and fibers for spinning yarn. The purpose for carding is to separate and straighten the wool fibers. The result is a rolag of wool that makes spinning easier. Carding might have initially used teasels, but later a pair of wooden paddles with wire faces would have been used.
