Description

Right at the top end of Blaen-y-Cwm, Aberangell, as the path begins to rise is a ruin of a very large house. In fact, there are two, facing each other across the track. On the left is the relatively newer one, possibly repacing the clearly older ruin of the one facing it. Between them passes what would have been regarded as a road. I was told it was once a regular route for horse and foot traffic between Aberangell and Dolgellau, about five miles away. All around the ruins was a thick carpet of snowdrops.
