Description

This letter was written the month before Michael D. Jones was declared bankrupt because of debts which he had incurred through his connection with the Welsh Colonising and Trading Company.

David Lloyd Jones writes to inform Michael D. Jones of the latest developments. He also calculates that the Welsh Settlement's total debt to Michael D. Jones is £3222. Lloyd Jones has also received a letter from Mr Denby asking the Settlement for £712.8.0 along with 10 per cent interest. The debt of the Settlement, including interest, is nearly £9000. Denby's letter also informed that the Argentine government's Emigration Department will provide for 710 immigrant families. 7 square leagues will be offered to every 200 families.
