There are several connections between Point of Ayr lighthouse near Talacre in Flintshire and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ['Mormons'/LDS]. These all occurred in the mid nineteenth century when LDS missionaries were proselytising the area and a number of local residents converted, were baptised, and emigrated to America. These include the Parry, Morris and Brooks families.
