Drowning Tragedy at Hook, Pembrokeshire

Description

Account of the tragedy I which five miners drowned off Picton Point. The miners had been sent to Backpool Mill to load timber for use in the mine at Hook. By the time they had completed loading the weather had worsened and four of the men decided to walk home. The others all drowned as gale force winds filled the little craft with water and it sank.
