Rebuilding History: Brynmawr Semtex Factory - Boiler House
Description
Made In Tredegar presents a series of short films focusing in some of the iconic buildings in Blaenau Gwent. From Inns and Taverns, to places of Worship, Industrial production and Social Gathering.
The Dunlop Semtex Factory in Brynmawr was once one of the most inventive buildings of its time. Built between 1945 and 1951, the Dunlop Semtex factory in Brynmawr will go down in history as one of the most inventive industrial building of its time. Sadly it's fate would be sealed and the main factory would be demolished in 2001. Today only the Grade II listed Boiler House that supplied the factory with heat still remains.
This project was supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Welsh Government and CADW. Made with the people of Blaenau Gwent and the Volunteers of Made In Tredegar. English and Welsh subtitles are available through the Youtube subtitling feature.
