This is a copy of an early photograph of Edward Pope, formerly of Cowbridge, Cardiff. Edward followed his father Charles Pope and enlisted into the Royal Navy in 1958. The photograph is believed to have been taken at HMS Ganges circa 1958, as there are no rank or trade badges on his uniform. Edward went on to serve for twelve years in the Communications branch as a Radio Operator. His story can be read on line in the Edward Pope collection at the West Wales Veterans Archive.
