Description

This is a copy of a photograph of Gloucestershire regiment soldier Leslie Smart hiding in ambush near Lake Kawashie, Kenya during the Mau Mau insurgency of the 1950s. Leslie has annotated the photograph. Further material and an interview with Leslie can be found online at the West Wales Veterans Archive in the Leslie Smart collection on the Peoples collection Wales website.
