Description
This project celebrates the rich history and heritage of Trimsaran, a village affectionately known as “Trim” by its people. Nestled in the heart of Carmarthenshire, Trimsaran has a proud industrial past, shaped by its coal mining heritage, which provided livelihoods and formed the backbone of the community.
Beyond industry, the village has been deeply influenced by its religious roots, with chapels serving as places of worship, social gatherings, and support networks. These institutions played a crucial role in shaping the cultural and moral fabric of Trimsaran.
At the heart of the village is its people—resilient, hardworking, and bound by a strong sense of community. Their stories, traditions, and shared experiences have created a lasting legacy that continues to define Trimsaran today.
No account of Trimsaran would be complete without mention of its rugby heritage. The village has produced remarkable players who have gone on to represent Wales on the national stage, bringing pride to their hometown. Rugby is more than just a sport in Trimsaran—it is a way of life, uniting generations through passion and camaraderie.
This collection, part of the People’s Collection Wales, aims to preserve and share the essence of Trimsaran’s past and present, ensuring that its legacy continues to inspire future generations.
