This is a photograph of RAF Photographer Nigel Hopkins taken at the famous Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland. Nigel completed a four month tour of duty in Northern Ireland from September 1979 and often travelled around the province conducting his work in plain clothes. Nigel is armed with a service issue pistol which is concealed underneath his jacket. Nigel's memoirs of his service in the RAF, supported my photographs, can be viewed on line in the Nigel Hopkins RAF collection at the West Wales Veterans Archive on the Peoples Collection Wales website.
