Miss Joy Stepney Gulston and James Thomas, Llandybie, 1957
Description
Miss Joy Stpeney Gulston of Derwydd Mansion, near Llandybie, was friendly with photographer Douglas Davies' mother. In 1957 Miss Gulston rang Douglas Davies and stated that James Thomas, First Lord of the Admiralty (1951-56) was going to visit her for a few days.
James Thomas was the son of John Hewes Thomas J.P. of Cae-glas, Llandeilo. He asked Miss Gulson is she knew a photographer who would take good photographs of Castell Carreg Cennen and the surrounding area for him. Taken around the same time, these photographs show James Thomas, Miss Stepney Gulston and also Davies' wife, Bronwen Davies.
The last photograph is of a tree being planted with the children of Llandybie school.
