Roman Brick with Legionary Stamp
Description
Bricks and roof-tiles from the legion's kilns were stamped with the legionary stamp LEG IIAVG so that they could be identified as the legion's property. LEG IIAVG is an abbreviated form of Legio Secunda Augusta, Latin for 'The Second Augustan Legion', which was based at Isca (Caerleon) for over 200 years from AD 75.
