Petty Officer Sydney Claypitt, Mumbles

Description

Sydney Claypitt was one of four sons of Daniel and Mary Claypitt, was married to Bessie and lived in Rock Hill Row, Mumbles. During the war he served as Petty Officer on H.M.S. Vivid. He died in England aged 35 on 2 June 1918, and was buried in Plymouth Old Cemetery. He is remembered with honour on the Great War Rood Screen Memorial at All Saints' Church, Mumbles.
