Description

These photographs come from the family collection of Frank Smale and his brother-in-law William Matthews, who both on HMS Bellerophon during the Great War. The images include photographs of the crews of the racing cutters.

I am hoping this image of the Gunnery Staff aboard MS Bellerophon contains an image of Frederick Joe Burd, my grandfather's brother, who served on this ship from 1913 to 1919. He was both a Gunner and a Gun Layer during this time. If anyone has a list of those included in this image I would love to hear from them (domburd at gmail dot com)
