John James Hughes 'Dead Man's Penny'

John James Hughes was a coal-miner before the war and served in the 8th Battalion, Cheshire Regiment. He passed away in Bombay on 30 June 1916: this is the memorial plaque, commonly known as the 'dead man's penny' that his family received.
