Garden Suburb, Burry Port

Description

The Garden Suburb at Burry Port was built 1915-1919 for workers at Pembrey explosives factory by Burry Port Garden Suburb Ltd. The company was run as a cooperative with tenants serving on the committee. 204 houses were built, designed by T. Alwyn Lloyd. They are rendered, 2-storey, hipped roofed houses with front and rear gardens, positioned around a central communal space.
