Tua diwedd 1918 fe ddanfonodd capel Zoar, Pontmorlais, Merthyr Tydfil, lythyr a rhodd o £1 i bob un o'r aeloadau a oedd yn gwasanaethu yn y Lluoedd Arfog. Ysgrifennodd J Griffiths y llythyr hwn i ddiolch i'r capel ar 17 Rhagfyr 1918, tra'n gwasanaethu yn Romania.
