Description

Many of the well-known Welsh longhouses started life as late-medieval halls with attached byres. Nannerth-ganol is one such property -- the cruck-framed hall is dated to 1555, and it was converted to a storeyed house around 1600 -- this is probably when the impressive square stone chimney was added. Today Nannerth-ganol is one of the best places to appreciate a prosperous late Tudor upland farmhouse.

One of six reconstruction animations of historic Welsh house types created by RCAHMW and See3D Ltd for the S4C television series 'Cartrefi Cefn Gwlad Cymru' (Fflic productions). © Crown Copyright: Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales: 2010
