Description

Welsh for Adults tutor talks about the work of his father David Roy Saer who travelled around Wales in the 1960s recording folk singing using a reel-to-reel tape recorder. He talks about the music being earthy and honest and very different in diction and gesture. Trios and groups were also recorded and he talks about Canu Carolau Plygain and Canu Lloft singing, the differences in the north and south and the revival of Plyggain singing in recent years.

Recorded during the Llangeinor Summer Fair, August 2013.
