The Merthyr Tydfil War Memorial is set on a terraced hillside above the main road junction at Pontmorlais Circus. It was built c1930. The bronze figures are by L S Merrifield, 1931; cast by A B Burton, founder of Thames Ditton.

The central bronze is the mythological figure of one of the Three Fates bearing (or measuring) the Web of Life. To the sides are standing figures of a miner and a female carrying a child.
