Victorian stoneware bottle of The Rock Brewery Company Limited, Aberdare. Opened in 1850, on the site presently occupied by the Rock Grounds Council Offices, Aberdare.

This was only one of several breweries in the Aberdare area founded in the nineteenth century, supplying local inns and beer-houses with drink.

The Rock Brewery was finally sold in 1921. At that time, it also owned 40 'tied' houses.
