Llanfairpwll Toll House
Description
RCAHMW digital photographic survey of A5 Toll house, by Iain Wright, 04/10/2007.
The Llanfairpwll Gate Toll House, built circa 1823, is an octagonal building with a pyramial roof and single storey wings. It is covered in roughcast render, has recessed casement windows and is the only toll house that still has a painted list of former tolls.
The building hosted some of the first Women's Institute (WI) meetings in 1915. In December 2012 it was announced that the WI will restore the building to make it a museum to tell the story of the Women's Institute.
