Tipstaff
Description
A short brass tipstaff with Coronet (crown) top. A tipstaff is a staff with a metal tip, and carried as a sign of office. It has a removable Coronet which unscrews.The handle is most probably walnut. Measures 6" in length. Likely to be from the late 18th century / Georgian period. Part of the Ross Mather Collection www.britishpolicehelmet.co.uk
