Description

This booklet is an account of the life and death of police sergeant Richard 'Dick' Thomas. Dick was a notable figure in the communities of South Wales through his service as a police officer and also as a Welsh international rugby player. He joined the war as a private soldier in January 1915 but was soom promoted to sergeant major. Sadly he lost his life on 7th July 1916 during the Battle at Mametz Wood.
