Oatmeal and Buttermilk

Ingredients

  • three tablespoonfuls oatmeal
  • cold buttermilk

Method

  • Put the oatmeal in a basin or bowl and fill it with buttermilk.
  • Stir well and eat immediately.

A popular dish during harvest time, it was usually eaten as a snack between meals.

This dish was known as sopas in parts of Pembrokeshire, e.g. Trefdraeth, Pembrokeshire.
