Baked Trout 1.

Description

Ingredients

  • three or four trout
  • salt
  • oatmeal
  • bacon dripping

Method

  • Split and clean the trout and dry thoroughly.
  • Remove the heads and tails, if desired.
  • Melt a little bacon dripping in an earthenware dish, or roasting tin, in the oven.
  • Roll the trout in salted oatmeal, place them side by side on the melted fat and cover with greaseproof paper or lid.
  • Bake in a moderately hot oven for about half an hour, remove the covering and allow them a further ten minutes to brown.
