Bargod Rangers resurfacing Parc Puw, 1976-77
Description
Bargod Rangers resurfaced Parc Puw in 1976-77.
Introduction of revolutionary new drainage system, the first of its kind in the world which involved the application of a synthetic filter made of a plastic material developed by ICI and laid 6 inches below the surface of sand and peat.
The development was the brainchild of Dr Stewart, a researcher at University of Wales, Aberystwyth. The scheme at Parc Puw was one of two developed by Dr Stewart, the second was none other than Hampden Park, Glasgow.
He has also worked on similar drainage schemes at Cardiff Arms Park and the Baseball Ground, home of Derby County Football Club.
