Description

Images taken from a book written by a Bosherston schoolteacher, Mrs Evans, around 1930:
"Here the main spring of the Bosherston ponds is found. In past days the sea came up almost as far as here. These ponds drain the Castlemartin Hills, which run from Freshwater East to Freshwater West. Lord

Cawdor (of Pembrokeshire Militia and of Fishguard fame) cause an embankment to be made at he north side of Broad Haven, and therefore helped to form these beautiful ponds, one of the greatest attractions of South Pembrokeshire, and, indeed, of South Wales."
