Family Reunion in Liverpool, 1902
Description
The seated older ladies are sisters Mary Rees and Annie Thomas (both formerly Howells) who had not met since Mary emigrated to Patagonia in 1875. Mary, aged 14, travelled out with her mother and step-father, Rebecca (formerly Howells) and Thomas Williams, and her brothers Hopkin and Isaac Howells.Behind them stand from left: Morgan, Magretta and Matilda Davies, Dewi Edwards, (nephews and nieces); seated (on floor) Rebe Thomas (Annie's daughter) and Jennet Archimedes Davies. A number of family members bear the name "Archimedes" after the ship which sailed to Patagonia in 1875. Mary Rees and her family were in Liverpool, on their way to Canada having decided not to stay in Patagonia.
