Description

The Cardiff Municipal Musical Society provided musical theatre programmes for children, older people and those with disabilities. The Society existed from 1943 to 1993. They were charged with preparing and putting on performances for the public and providing opportunities for those who love drama.

The Society had showcased a variety of performances in their time and so had printed many theatre programme booklets for their productions.

This item is a programme for 'The Quaker Girl', which was performed at the New Theatre, Cardiff, between the 25 February and 2 March 1963.

The programme includes:
- A list of the Cardiff Municipal Musical Society’s leaders, including C A Bence (the Mayor of Cardiff), Colin Underwood and H Ferguson Jones;
- A list of the production directors (including Marguerite Thomas, Edgar Watkins, Fred Johnson and Gladys Johnson);
- A list of actors (including Norman Evans as Tony, Kerry Lewis as Jeremiah, Peggy Rocke as Prudence, Peggy Mason as Madam Blum and Sandra Power as Phoebe);
- A story of the play;
- A list of the Society's patrons and friends.
