Air Velometer, made by Casella of London, 1889
Description
A velometer for testing airflow in colliery workings was essential to ensure proper ventilation in collieries. The print on the dial reads 'Colliery Air Meter No. 526'. A paper label pasted inside the storage box reads 'Morgan H. Thomas, Birchgrove, Nov 26 1889'.
L. Casella was a well-known maker of scientific instruments of all kinds in London during the second half of the 19th century.
