Description

Captain of the Porthmadog schooner ELLEN JAMES.

Son of Captain and Mrs John Cadwalader 2 Salem Terrace, Criccieth. His ship was sunk was sunk by the German submarine UC-71 (Hans Valentiner) in the Bay of Biscay 3rd April 1917.

This plaque was originally on the wall at Capel Salem (Weslayan) Criccieth. When the chapel closed for worship the plaques were moved to the Maritime Museum in Porthmadog.
