Victorian water purifier, London, c.1860 (image 1 of 2)

Description

A victorian water purifier, removed from Temple Bar in London, and found in a Porthcawl garden. The inscription reads:
'Lipscombe & Co. Patentees, 44 Queen Victoria St., Mansion House, London. Removed from Temple Bar.'
Curiously, the applied decoration of vine leaves and fruit seems to have been laid over a Greek key design, which can be seen clearly around the rim of the vessel.
