Description

Article Griffith John Jones Criccieth -award at National Eisteddfod 1925

Son of Owen Jones Stanley Road.
Joined the 16th Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers at the outbreak of war. Fought in most major campaigns and survived the war.
After the war he lived at Tan yr Erw and worked as a monumental mason and fisherman.
He was a gifted sculptor and won this award at the National Eisteddfod at Pwllheli in 1925.
The plaque is now located at the Lloyd George Museum in Llanystumdwy.
