Note: This representation of a very narrow-waisted young woman in fashionable, rather than practical clothes is one of at least three (the others being C. Martin’s ‘Wales, Fancy Ball Companion no 23’ (NLW PA9088) and ‘Wales’ (NLW PA9087). They might have been published in books of fashion plates or comparative folk/national costumes.
